Could it be #1? Now commenting on the Benny Boom-directed clip, it features Nicki living the good 'love' life with Nas, who plays Her Minajesty's boyfriend (I know! So random!).
#NICKI MINAJ RIGHT BY MY SIDE ALBUM CRACKED#
The song had already cracked the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this year (just when Minaj's second album got released) thanks to digital sales only, so imagine now that it's an official single. Everything works so well! No doubt "Right By My Side" will be a radio hit. I just love everything about it from the melodious beat, the lyrics, to Nicki's rap/singing. Young Money star Nicki Minaj makes out with rapper Nas in her new music video for " Right By My Side" -the latest single lifted from the Trinidadian's sophomore album " Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" - Watch above! The Chris Brown-assisted effort is one of the nicest, feel-good tunes on Nicki's LP. She dominated that year in the pop-rap world, and this album is the epitome of that.Nicki Minaj - 'Right By My Side' (Music Video)

I listen to that song literally for the Nicki verse alone then just click off of it. Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber is my favorite example because she made some corny pop song into an absolute banger. Aside from this album, she was on one hell of a feature run that left us with a plethora of classics, most of which are so good that I wouldn't even consider ever returning to the song if it wasn't for Nicki's verse. One last thing I want to mention is that, if Kendrick didn't release GKMC that year, Nicki would easily be the MVP of 2012 in hip-hop. I understand why some hip-hop heads would be against these kinds of albums from such a polarizing artist like Nicki, as it is a very mainstream-appealing album, but I personally love it. Having grown up in the late-2000s and through the early/mid-2010s, this album (especially some of the bigger hits from it) is a staple in my childhood as far as nostalgic albums go. It's all over the place yet not messy at all. Not many artists have been able to reach this amount of success in making an album that spans multiple genres so effortlessly. Nostalgia aside, it's still one hell of a banger. That song as a whole is so nostalgic that I feel like it's so insanely clear of anything else on the album. I honestly love beats like Right By My Side, especially that electric guitar's transition into the beat drop at the very beginning. The production is very strong on this album, though that would depend on whether you like this dance-pop sound or not. The only feature I didn't like was Beenie Man, I just don't like his singing. They're just as good as they need to be to not drag down their respective tracks but not strong enough to establish dominance in the song. The features on here are nice but don't overshadow or outdo Nicki on any occasion. Though it's a stupid song that is honestly terrible as a diss track, it surely does slap. Of course, Starships leads the album into a STRONG dance-pop direction where it slowly but surely blends into straight-up pop with Marilyn Monroe until the album finally ends with the weird, crazy, charismatic outro Stupid Hoe. Following these few songs, the tone gets softer with tracks like Right By My Side, a beautiful pop ballad by Nicki alongside hip-hop's 2nd favorite light-skin rapper and R&B singer, after Drake, Chris Brown. The album starts off with a wacky intro that continues the story of Roman Zolanski, then kicks off with a few hard trap songs such as Beez in the Trap. Nicki Minaj - Right by My Side Piano Tutorial 'Right by My Side' was the second single from Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki Minajs second studio album (2012). This is her pinnacle as far as artistry and is somewhat the equivalent of what MBDTF or Yeezus is in Kanye's catalog. She is a creative, wacky, unordinary artist who isn't afraid to show her true self to the world, much like Kanye West. She is not making pop bullshit to make money or to chart high, she is making it because she has a genuine love for the music. Sure it's extremely poppy and mainstream, but Nicki shows strong passion in this album. I'm re-reviewing this bc my feelings towards this album have changed.
